About the plane:
The unusual aircraft with a round wing was created in 1934. It was designed by Steven P. Nemeth, a flight instructor, and built by students at the University of Miami as part of their research on low-speed flight. The fuselage came from an Alliance Argo biplane. The aircraft was powered by a 90-horsepower Lambert engine. The aircraft had very good STOL performance and in case of failure could land like a parachute (sic!). The aircraft was housed in a hangar the size of a large garage.

About the model:
Some time ago I built a Lee-Richards Annular Monoplane V3 and at that time I became interested in aircraft built using a round wing. The Nemeth Parasol model was built in 1/72 scale based on the AviS kit. It can hardly be called "straight out of the box", because out of the box is the fuselage, airfoil, propeller and front wheels 🙂 The engine comes from an Airfix Dakota (+ "wireology") and all struts etc. I had to make from scratch. However, I find the final appearance satisfactory 🙂
