Thanks!
After painting Chippingfluid (MIG) I painted the whole body in a light green. I used water-based vallejo Colors.
On the left fender, hood and in front of the windshield the paint cracked after drying. The effect is perfect! It is the first time that this happened but just perfect.
A model colleague told me, that this happens if you paint wet in wet. That could be, I had no long time tolet the fluid dry.
Thanks!

Made some progress with the chipping method. I used needles, brushes, toothpicks for scratches and remove the paint. Also used them to "correct" the cracked peaces and get them in place. It is really easy, when the paint is softened with a brush and water. Excercises.
My focus is the left side and front. So the model will be placed on a base.

A long time passed... wow, nearly a year!
In the meantime I continued to build on the BMW mid last year but simply forgott to update. while i was cleaning up my bench, it catched my eye and i thought:
d***...there is something i forgott *lol*
The BMW should be half covered.
It's easier on the diorama to "show" taht with closed convertibletop as with a open roof under a cover.
To do this, I worked on the top (dented, worn) and put the frame from the windshield on.
After that I took a napkin soaked in water with glue and arranged it like a cover should lie in my opinion to match the story.
I let it dry and then I can paint and weather it as I want

Excellent work Dominik. Rusty/worn cars are so much more interesting ! Love the battered convertible top - you've inspired me to have a go.

Time goes by. Good. I thoght, you'll rip of the "fabrics" of top, let the structure sit on the car and add broken fabrics around the struts
Will you rename the album?

really cool paint cracking and peeling effects! The full rusty under-layer already looked cool enough, almost too good to paint-over, but I guess it was worth covering it up for this level of pro-treatment! 👍

olala...lond time ago i layed my hand on it...
in the meantime, i painted the cover and used AK-products for the weathering. on the body, i'm done so far. now i have to move on the chromeparts to match.

Maybe you should let leave chrome parts in the box 😄
I agree with Spanjaard.

...hmmmm.....the chroemparts...well...i will take a look, what i can do.
the one that catches my eye if i don't mount them are the rims. in that case, i miss wheelbolts...thinking about.

Very realistic and convincing age effects ! Even in such a poor state it's still one of the most beautiful cars ever built. Makes me feel really sorry to see it in this state.... 😄

thank you very much! That work i take between to others...man, that went in small steps now.
But, i made some small progress at him:
weathered some parts (most chrome parts) and mounted them. it comes together

Proper crusty! Superb rendition of well observed deterioration! Loving the tarpaulin too!

thank you very much, much appreciated.
nearly after one years, i completed the "final" parts on the body. sometimes, motivation goes on the brakes...
