suggestion, do not judge by the pictures via magnifying lenses, but what you see when you look at it with naked eyes....😉 it does look good, specially if it is the first one 🙂
i would suggest to use a dark wash around the white buttons on the left hand side for the copilot. The buttons remain white, and the area where they are, would be dark. Use very little amount of wash to avoid covering the buttons. good idea to test it first in a spare cockpit

Looks very good like that. If you are confident with yourself, you can try to paint the instrument gauges black, then use a needle or a fine tip of a knife to carve the dials patiently through the black paint. The color of the plastic is pale enough to be "white-isch" and then finish with some clear lacquer where the glass parts of the instruments should be:
start: [img1]
finish: [img1]
It's not difficult, it just takes a steady hand

seems like a lot of sanding will be needed. I think it is better to wait with the PE and details till after the main sanding of the hull...

Sure @Bart, I think the same. However as you can see I had a problem with one exhaust pipe. When I open the kit, one year after it's bought, I saw that an exhaust pipe was missing and the other was ruined. So I decided to create the doors open and then add extra details hand made on the tube panel. For the moment I do not think is coming, but as he says @Spanjaard I would say to make my assessment at the end of work and see the glance.
PS: Sorry for my english.. traslate help me... 🙁

Busy experimenting with the AB? You can do that also on a plastic bottle or a can... a lot cheaper 😉
Pic70: you have some drops on the tip of the needle that are blown off, normally you can fix this by feeding air-paint-air in a controlled way (not all at once or very sudden:
Pic78: looks very good, some lighter spots and a non-even coverage
Pic82: too much paint at once, it's better to put on several thin layers than one layer that is to thick
When freehanding the camouflage I tend to remove the cap from the AB that protects the needle. And then at low pressure (0.8bar) and thinned paint I begin to draw the camo, just looking that the tip of the needle is just a few mm's from the surface, and mostly pointing towards the center of the surface you want to color.

@Bart: Thanks for all advice. I will try to follow them on the next model (1:48 - F-14 Tomcat). 🙂
Yes, this camouflage is a AB experimets. This is my second camouflage, the first is the Mi-24 hind, more simple, two color.
