Hi Mates! Started today with my F-100D Trumpeter kit...I am very happy with the PE-parts from Eduard, as they add a lot of detail to the cockpit! Cheers, Christian

One of my all time favorite Jets! Nice start with the cockpit, well I'm in!
26 August 2014, 16:12

Great looking cockpit. I'm a fan of Eduards precolored PE-parts for this section. They looks very well and save a lot of work.
26 August 2014, 16:42

Thank you Christian and Stefan! Yes, the PE-parts save a lot of work, the cockpit was finished within 3 hours...😉
26 August 2014, 16:57

Very clean work on the pe´s! Whats your way of applying the ca on the pe´s? Needle? Tough´n´flow? Toothpick?
This cockpit is 10/10!
26 August 2014, 17:11

LG

Update...I think this one will be a fast build...applied black coat all over, before the second layer in silver comes up.

27 August 2014, 19:15

Der Schleudersitz alleine ist schon absolut top ... WAHNSINN!!!
Bin gespannt auf den Rest ...

Thank you all Guys for the really nice feedback and following this build, I appreciate it very much!
Worked yesterday night on the paintjob...fuselage looks good so far, I will upload some pics soon 😉
Cheers, Christian

First impression of the painted main fuselage and the rear turbine-section...next step will be a nice layer of glossy clear varnish...

Sehr vielversprechend!!

Dear both, thank you for the hint ..i also have seen such effects in the web and thought about creating this also on my sabre...unfortunately i do not have alcad colours available. Do you think it could work with Revell clear red and clear blue? Would you mix both colours or would you apply it separately Dach layer? Thanks for your advise!
28 August 2014, 13:28

Hi Christian,
I have some experience with both brands, Acrylic Clear Colours as well as Alclad. Don't mix'em. Since there are very transparent colours, you will receive smooth transitions and colour variations.
Indeed it is important to work with properly diluted colours. You will need several layers, but this circumstance is highly recommended to receive your desired solution.
The best choice as a base coat is e.g. Aluminium with a further slight hint of Tamiya X-31 scalemates.com/colors/color.php?id=453, actually to these places you will apply the blue and violett colours, as you has done.
Greetz Dirk
BTW, a very nice model so far.
28 August 2014, 14:27

Jou! Clear blue and red, much better in my opinion than coloured alclad.
28 August 2014, 14:28

Hi Bernhard,
the blue, red and violett "Hotmetal" colours of Alclad are perfect transluscent and very runny. I've made no bad expieriences with these brand.
28 August 2014, 14:34

Fantastic build, really impressed, especially since it it on the build list for me
28 August 2014, 16:16

Dirk: O yeah, that right; I've forgotten that Alclad offers transparent paints🙂
Unfortunately no own experience with them🙁
28 August 2014, 17:15

Thank you all! I will try to do my best with my revell transparent colours...cheers and wish cross your fingers for me!

28 August 2014, 19:46

Christian, thank you very much, very good reference! This is one picture I didnt found in the www 😉;
29 August 2014, 07:28

Mates, I did it...and I am happy with the result...just mixed Revell Aqua Clear Blue and Clear Red together to get a violett...thin it very very well...and I brushed it, as Bernhard suggested, with a brush...several layers. At the End I painted very small stripes of clear red and mixed it at the modell with the violett...the effect is great, I hope you can see it on the pictures well!
29 August 2014, 08:28

Dear michael, i will leave it as it is for the.moment...in reality it is really looking blue, violett and red, in the photo it Is not visible properly...i want not to overdue it...with clear coat i guess the effect will be a little more.
29 August 2014, 09:54

Hmmm, all I can see is, there are a lot of blue and violett tints on both original pictures?!
29 August 2014, 10:34

Nice effect and result! May you can add some more effects with the weathering.
29 August 2014, 16:39

The most difficult part of the painting is (well) done...
Now have fun with the other steps!
29 August 2014, 19:56

Thank you all for motivating me and your support! I try to do my best...Cheers, Christian
30 August 2014, 07:49

Update! I did some more paintings and the decal-job...as the decals from the box are not great in numbers, I feeled free to add some warning- and caution-markings from my rest-box...next step will be the weathering with my washes...Cheers!
30 August 2014, 12:26

Thank you all for your kind feedback guys! As the weather is still bad in Salzburg this summer, I spent all yesterday for my F-100...Now she is almost finished, only external fuel tanks and loadouts are still missing. I decided to give her a glossy finish also over the decals. When the external loadouts are ready, I will try to make some better photos, hopefully in the sun 😉 Hope you like my work, Cheers, Christian
31 August 2014, 09:22

Thank you Jens and Clifford! Today I added the external fuel tanks and the ladder...will see to upload some final pics soon. Cheers, Chris
