It took more than three days to separate and trim the parts from the runner.

Before doing full-scale painting, I applied primer to the etched parts.

I usually paint the body first, but this car had such a large body that I started by painting other parts first.
(Gloss Black, Grayish White, Beige, Flat Aluminium, Metal Black)

Next, I painted light gray parts.
And since the gloss of the black I painted before wasn't enough, I added one more layer of clear(gloss)t.

The surface area of the vehicle's exterior was so large that painting it in a single color would have been monotonous, so I masked it and painted it German Gray.

Last time I made a Ford GT, the masking lines were messy, so I threw away all the masking tape I had and bought all new ones. This time, I used new masking tape and was able to get clean line.
I found a large dust later, but I was exhausted from trimming the parts, so I decided to ignore it.

Since all the embossed letters on the exterior were removed, custom decals were placed in places where the Hummer logo was not supposed to be placed.

I painted with paint brush. But I'm not too happy with the result.
Instead of doing useless splitting, I think these parts should have been split...

Next, I painted the reflectors with silver using a brush and coat them with clear color.

The parts that fit together are perfect, but the ones that don't fit are so mismatched that they break like this. The steering part broke, so I had to fix it by putting in a pin.

Since the body shell might not match up if attached one by one, I pre-assembled them so that they could be attached all at once.

The shell fit the parts quite well. Little bit gaps or warping were fixed with cyanoacrylate.

For some reason, the front wheels automatically returned to the center even when the steering was turned.
Even after scraping off all the places where there might be interference between parts, it was the same.
I had no choice but to apply Extra Thin Cement and make it stiff.

The tail lights of old cars are opaque, so I paint them on the outside, and the clear tail lights of modern cars are painted on the inside.
And even when masking is difficult, it is sometimes painted on the outer surface.

@yngvenett - No problem 😉 All the paints I listed are lacquer-based paints, and I do not recommend lacquer paints for brushing. And looking at your album, I can see that it is painted with a brush. Water-based paints have the worst quality in clear colors.
If you are going to paint with a brush, I recommend using Tamiya X-26, X-27.
This color comes in two types: enamel and alcohol-based. Alcohol-based paints can also be diluted with water.

Thanks again and for saving me from trouble 😬 There will be an airbrush some day, but until then these advices will save me lots of waisted money and space filled with totally useless paint that *almost* look right 😉
