Belgian Air Force A-4E Skyhawk "BuNo 152080"

The Belgian Air Force evaluated the A-4E as a replacement for the F-84F.

One of the 2 factury fresh evaluation aircrafts (1x A-4E + 1x TA-4E), flown by Belgian pilots received some special markings, including a Belgian roundel, a Belgian tail flag, the Belgian pilot's name on the cockpit frame and modex "VK-OO", the codex for the VMA-121 CO.

Other competitors were the A-6A Intruder, the A-7A Corsair II, the F-104S Starfighter, the F-5A Freedom Fighter, the Saab 35 Draken and the winner, the Mirage V.

next to the Mirage and the A-4, only the Draken and the F-5 were evaluated.
