Moin Roland!
Na das sieht ja mal wieder sehr vielversprechend aus!

The Ki-44 is slowly taking shape- what a marvelous kit! Everything has it´s place, is well dimensioned and fits perfect...
There will be little to sand -and thats´s good, because I am going to do the box-art plane with a lot of alclad on it.

Da sage ich dank, Holger!

Das Cockpit sah auf den ersten Blick aus, als wäre es aus Resin gemacht! Tolle scharfe Details!

Hallo Holger, das habe ich mir allerdings auch gedacht...!
The plastic-cokpit parts look so crisp and sharp-edged, the could be made of resin- a compliment to Hasegawa-san!

That is something what I would call an "amazing start"! Count me in 😉

The Ha-109 replica has been fitted with some proper copper wire- and the surfaces have been sanded- not much to do anyway- for the first layers of colour.

Hallo Roland! Da hast Du ja schon einen perfekten Start für Wings, Wheels and Tracks hingelegt. Viel Erfolg! Ich bleibe bei Deiner Shoki natürlich dran.

Always awesome to see your progress Roland 🙂

Hello- and thank you!
Danke für die guten Wünsche Stefan 🙂
Step by step the different colors will be painted: Tody I did the yellowleading etches, tomorrow the red gun planking will follow, subsequently gloss black will be sprayed as a base for Alclad White Aluminum.
Yesterday I sprayed the control surfaces with Tamiyas "Chrome" which was followed by Gunzes mat lacquer to simulate the non-metalic nature of these parts.
Pictures of that will follow soon... 🙂

A few steps further: you can see the painting of the yellow/red leading edge, the preparations for the white fuselage area and the control surfaces in mat aluminum in one steps, followed bx glossy black as abase for the Alclad.
I will allow the "White Aluminum" to settle for a day before masking the beautiful red fuselage marking.

Here you can see the red strip being applied... Only the black cowling is missing now...
Having done this work, I will harmonize all colour shades with a layer of Gunze clear gloss...

Hello Guido! The latest progress can be seen here: all colours are applied and Gunze gloss clear sprayed over all surfaces- applying of decals can start!

all round lovely ! 🙂

Looks very good Roland 👍 Can't wait to see the decals on.

Here are the decals! Thank you Mats for your comment!
Hasegawas decals stuff is quite first class, no problems on applying and a good extension of the painted parts, in my opinion.

👍 - Nothing more to say 🙂

Thank you Soeren!
A mating clear varnish has reduced the all too glossy glance to a more fitting shine.
The Ki-44 is going into the straight; besides the rigging of the antenna and the assembly of the canopy parts there is not all too much left to do...

What a masterpiece of a paintjob Roland ! Love the subtle chipping. Pic no. 36 looks just like the real thing !

Helllo Hanno... and thank you for these inspiring words!
After having solved problems adjusting the cowling this build could be finished in a fairly quick time: the Ki-44 Shoki has been finished!
I would like to show you some pictures of this model, I hope, you like them 🙂

Choppa Nutta
Yeah Roland that is really quite exquisite ! 🙂

That's a beautiful job done Roland. Too "clean" for my taste (I like them dirty), but very well assembled with a great finish!
