1/300 Lindberg U.S.S. Rudderow TMW Tribute GB
1
January 3, 2024Lead ship of her Destroyer Escort Class.2
January 3, 2024Getting rid of the spurious plastic parts inside the hull bottom and adding a backing plate where the hole for the R/C versions propeller shaft came out. This will be mounted on a base with electric lamp ferrules - if I can find the ones I purchased a while back!3
January 3, 2024The outer hull bottom is also going to need quite a bit of work. Taking care of the sink marks, R/C propeller 'divot', filling the R/C prop hole and removing the 'Steel Plate' detail.4
January 3, 2024Got the 'Steel Plate' lines mostly scraped off the hull. Only gouged it in a few places - still have to check it with a smaller blade scrapper and do a bit of sanding. I figure getting these lines off is the biggest part of the job!5
January 9, 2024Preliminary sanding done on the hull and starting to fill in the larger holes with scrap styrene.6
January 10, 2024Got a bit more done on the hull and main deck this evening.7
January 11, 2024Scrapped off most of the lines on the superstructure & 02 level. Realized I really gouged the deck of the forward 40 mm gun tub and figured I would call it quits for tonight while I was ahead.8
January 15, 2024Got the lines scrapped off the superstructure. Still have to do some sanding but I think the toughest part of the build is over.
