1- strarted by scraping and sanding all glue and thick paint layered area. however I could not entirely remove the paint without desintegrating the model.

2- put the day after good layer of primer that levelled the surface and unified the color.

3- as all the raised pannelines desapeared during the sanding, I tried to rescribe them with a needle. However, the layers of paints below did not make it easy.

4 - I will stop here sanding and now go for the first layer of paint white one. The idea is to have a historical but very flashy camo to divert eyes from imperfection of the kit.

thanks ! This camo was worn by one reco plane in Morroco in 1946. It is disruptive and original. Next step is to make the unregular (hand painted) black lines and find adequate decals.

added pics of the finished kit after repairing, resanding, cleaning and repainting. A Zebra D.520 folwn in Morocco in 1946/7. to me it has a better look than how it was initially (see 1st pic). Far from perfect, however. Let me know what are your thought, critics, and recommandations.

That camo looks cool 👍
My recommemdation is twofold: first, try brushing the panel lines woth some thin penetrating glue, to smooth the edges a bit. A scriber might be better than a needle. Second - get Dornier 27 for another zebra camo 🙂

It's definitely better than original. I'm mostly disturbed by the canopy and the rudder in photo 36, that shines too much and looks rough.
