Great looking cockpit, Lucasz! A little easier build than the Avanti?

Attached the wings and horizontal stabiliser, it's really hard to keep the geometry.

@Daniel: Less tricky than Avanti, lot less 🙂
After 2 evenings of extensive sanding, today it was high time for the black primer and the result is very satisfying. Next step - the engines and their nacelles.

Well done so far, Łukasz!
The vac canopy was no longer yellow with the sun?

Thank you guys.
@Cuajete: The canopy is still bit yellowish, but as windows will be quite small and cockpit background is khaki, I assume it will not be noticeable 🙂

👍
I know a way to make transparent the vac canopy, but it is possible that in a while it will be yellow again.

Łukasz, it is almost the same as what you have done, but with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).
Place the vacu in a transparent bag and fill it with hydrogen peroxide until it covers the transparent vac and then seal the bag as well as it is possible (Zip bags could be good for this). Then everything is fastened to the window giving the sun for several days or weeks (until it looks transparent). Better in summer, when the sun is stronger. This process will whiten wholly or partially the vacu, but it is posile that a time later it will be yellow again.
I think that everything also depends on the compound with which the transparent vacu is made.

An interesting idea, Cuajete. Need to try that on an old Aeroclub vac canopy that has turned a bit yellow..

I hope you have good luck, Gordon. Be careful and do tests before.
In my case, in some canopies it worked well, in others not so much and in others the cabin was in worse condition. This process will whiten wholly or partially the vacu, but it is posile that a time later it will be yellow again. I think that everything also depends on the compound with which the transparent vacu is made.
If this process does not work, you can use the canopy to create a new vac from this one on, with a vacuum machine.

Small update today 🙂 Decalled, varnished, little bit of smoke added close to the exhaust pipes, demasked the windscreen. Waiting for the side windows, wheels, mud guards and aerials. 🙂

I haven't been patient enough to see the actual results. Today after removing the masks I found out there was nothing to worry about - I can hardly see there's anything in the cockpit...

Very nice metallized, Łukasz!
I can't appreciate the result of the canopy, but it seems that the yellowing is not very noticeable.

Thanks mate, it's the second attempt, I had to wash away the first try 🙂 I'll cover the windscreen with the GX clear, so it should become more transparent and shiny, but I don't expect to see the cockpit again...
But beforehand, unfortunately the Micro Cristal Clear is drying for ages, so I had to find sth else to do in the meantime (Dakota) 🙂

Very nice NMF, Lucasz! Did you mask the de-ice boots before the metal finish or paint over? Doing the Dakota in LOT colours too?

Thanks, it wasn't intended to be NMF really, as they were painted after assembly in Poland. On available pictures, all the Electras are very clean and shiny, so I made it this way and only little bit of smoke will be visible. The black boots were sprayed using MrHobby C2 and then masked before spraying Alclad. I was too afraid I may damage the shiny metallizer (and I find the lacquer paints very durable).
Dakota will be painted in 1950's LOT livery:

Indeed there are. Hence I mentioned the clear glue, one of the windows has been eaten before I managed to rescue it 🙂
And not so perfectly, that's why I don't take too many close-up pics😉

Finished! Enjoy the pics. 🙂 The aerials are bit loose, but I fixed it after the session. Ping me in case you want to see the straight wires😉

Very nice, Lucasz. I like these "classic" aircraft! Just wish I could afford one...
