Tamiyas He-219 should be a joyful and satisfying build- look at that weight forming substantially the Cockpit!

Some news on that bird too:
as with Revells "Uhu", Tamiyas He-219 cockpit is now enclosed by the two fuselage halves. Fit seems to be nearly perfect, the build is quite a pleasure so far.

Oh yes! I am keen to get a good comparison between the two kits/scales! Have a look at the "big" Revell- He-210, construction of both are at the same stage....

Hi mates, thank for your words! Indeed, I got a idea for this "Uhus" finish: it will get the black underside of the example offered in the Tamiya kit.
I also decided to paint the wheel struts in "RLM66" on this example; obviously it´s hard to come to a final conclusion whether this colour or "RLM02" would be right.
Some new pictures of the building state: parts are just glued, no sanding or filling done by now.

Next step: "black" underside.... it will consist of Gunzes "Gloss Black"-two parts- and "Tire Black"- one part.

Well, to fast for me, but excellent. I`m still struggling with some details of my UHU. But anyhow ... Very nice work ! 🙂

Thank you Christians for these encouraging words!
After preshading and applying the black paint, I sprayed "RLM76" on the masked He-219. After that, RLM 75 was "dotted" on the surfaces, followed by another pass of RLM 76, which should have framed the the dots of RLM75 in this characteristic manner often seen on German nightfighters.

Looks great Roland. You managed to pull this camo scheme off very nicely. If you look at it long enough it feels like you are looking at a water surface. Great Job!

Interesting to see the differences between my Revell pit and this one!

....indeed
- and interesting to see the differences between your growing beauty and my Revell pit! 🙂
Your seat belts look much more realistic, first I thought they where "textile" ones.... 🙂

Nice paintjob, I like the contrast between the black and the camo.
How do you get such camo pattern?

Sorry for the late answer Rutger: first I put free hand patterns of the RLM 75 on the brighter RLM 76. Then I narrowed them down with lines of RLM 76, again freehand, achieving that peculiar style of putative "dots" on the RLM 76.
Completion is nearing..... some exhaust stains still have to be done.

Finished at last! These pictures show the "Uhu" filly fledged.
That was a joy of a build. Thank you all for your encouraging comments and interest, I hope you like the result 🙂
