To finish my small collection of MIG-15/17s I have to build a "humpback" MIG 15UTI... Trumpeters kit resembles exactly the one for the "Fagot" -plus the arrangements for the twoseater of course. As I am planning to show both cockpits open I had invested in etched parts. First pictures show the Pakistani " Midget" I am going to do and the two seats in a rather crude state.

Some news to this bird: the cockpit is in the making- and will be finished after I have found a way to get some gauges for the side consoles.

Thank you very much Es-haq!
Looking on the etched seat belts I suddenly had an unpleasant suggestion: they definitly do not look like pieces of textile, they look like..., yes, skis, inclusive bindings in the middle...! (tja, bin eben Österreicher).
With that in my mind I had to exchange and alter this belts. I used layers of coloured masking tape to get a more "textile" look. It may be not so precise in appearance as before, but I am more or less happy with result. I show you some "before and after" pictures.

Da ist sie ja schon die nächste MiG. Die Bearbeitung der Sitzgurte hat sich echt ausgezahlt. Sie sehen jetzt wesentlich realistischer aus.

Well, in my opinion the original plane is one of the ugliest Jets ever made... But excellent start as always Roland! This will be another masterpiece made by You!

I am very happy about your feedback, it´s quite a motivation to improve those first attempts!
After all, it seems as if further projects will mainly have home-tailored harnesses 🙂
Christian: even the "ugliest Jet ever made" is a superlative- worth a model 🙂

Thanks Vorya! Three steps in these pictures: first you see the gloss-black priming, than comes Alclad´s "White Aluminum" which is partly oversprayed by "Steel". Those areas have been masked by tape or liquid masking- you can see this on the following pics- this was followed by a second session of "White Aluminum".
Tomorrow I will de-mask; I am curious about the result!

This one is finished. Lot of modeling fun and very well suited for natural metal finish; I recommend that little pretty-ugly twin seater for everyone...
Thank you mates for your comments!

Thank you mates! Somebody said "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
but indeed... maybe "UTI" is translated as "Ugly Tiny Interceptor"?
