The construction of the Fiat G.50 goes quite well in principle: few parts, in general well made, but the whole thing in coarse wall thickness and rough casting. But, that has to be said, a really nice kit! I added a little detail to the resin engine block. Most of it disappears under the cowling, so here are a few pictures of it.

A few steps further: the fuselage and wings are now ready to receive a first coat of paint - starting with the underside. Pre-shading and pre-lightening can still be seen on this pictures. The engine cowling is only attached and will be removed again for the rest. I have to say, the accuracy of fit is fantastic!

This morning I basically finished the surface colour scheme and was able to apply layers of glossy clearcoat. This also explains the greasy gloss you see here. Italian camouflages bring variety in their wide range - and also new challenges 🙂

Apart from a few 'final touches', the Fiat G.50 is finished, Special Hobby has provided a really fine kit! Now the position lights will be built up with Crystal Klear and the chassis - namely the suspension struts - will be reworked.

The Fiat G.50 is now finished - and I'm taking the liberty of uploading a few more photos than usual. The pictures do not have a 'Mediterranean' background, as this aircraft was used as part of the CAI against the RAF during the Battle of Britain from autumnal Belgium. There are a few more pictures, because I also want to present my attempt to build the ICM since 'Italien Pilots'.
I found the Special Hobby kit of the G.50 very comfortable and easy to build, my full recommendation for this solid offer! Perhaps I will build another example of this model with its many variants! 🙂
