This kit was one of the last kits my late but very great Nan ever bought me.
It was bought around the year 2000 as part of the BBMF Battle of Britain set and at the time I wasn't collecting 1/72 or a very good builder so it was stored away and saved.
The set was rediscovered in 2012 when I moved out of my Nans house.
At the time I was a 1/200 scale only collector and I had recently transferred over to 1/72 and 1/400 scale.
I built the Spitfire & Hurricane as my first ever builds but didn't have the confidence to work on the Lanc.
She died in 2013 and as a tribute to her I stupidly tried building it but I was in a bad way and it didn't look very good.
I tried finishing it but couldn't bring myself to so again it was stored, half complete with my Corgi 617sqn Tall Boy Lanc.
Anyway nearly 8 years on and I finally decided to try again and finish her!
The plan was to have her as an experimental aircraft in Raspberry Ripple markings but whilst chatting to my wife about it all we decided that this would be a better tribute to my Late Nan.
The registration will be SM555 with the codes NA@N and she will wear the RAF's famous "Coastal Command" colours.
