This year marks the anniversary of 3 very big moments in Harrier history!
Firstly the 50th anniversary since the Hawker Siddley Harrier GR.1 entered service with the Harrier Conversion Unit at RAF Wittering back in April 18th 1969.
Secondly the 40th Anniversary of the BAe Systems Sea Harrier!
And thirdly the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Transatlantic Air Race in which Harrier XV741 famously achieved the fastest time in the London to New York leg piloted by Sqn Leader Tom Lecky.
Any kit, any scale, any mark, prototypes and experimental aircraft are all allowed.
WhatIf's are allowed if your adventurous enough!
Diorama bases can be included in the build aslong as it is related to the Harrier.
The kit must be in near untouched condition, if your unsure please free to contact me and well talk it over.
Aftermarket parts, decals and photoetch of any kind are allowed.
This is a celebration of a much loved aircraft whuch is why WhatIf's and Diorama's are included.
I will be building this Sea Harrier FA.2 to represent ZD610 which I saw for the first time since her preservation at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in 2011.
She was previously seen in the background of the hit tv series Top Gear which is Dunsfold Aerodrome and now resides at a Museum in Bristol Filton, so she has lived in 3 very scary airfields in the preserved aircraft world!
