I scanned my favorite hobby shop for some additional pe´s but couldt find some... Is the Lion Roar set the only existing aftermarket?

No.
But all the other parts are "sold seperatly".
As example you could use WEM DKM Portholes, WEM DKM AA-Weapons (especially the 3.7cm) and Eduard DKM AA-Weapons (2 cm) and if needed you could buy the Geschützrohre for the 15cm, 3.7cm and the 2 cm from Master.
And You´re still cheaper then the Lion roar set...

That sounds good, Mathias! And i´ll keep that in mind for the next one. (WEM = White ensign models?)

Jonns, dat kannst Du wohl sagen!
Choppa, i dont want to disappoint you but this will become a oob build without a diorama... I never simulated water and desperately need some practise but not with this one!

haha fair enough, alternatively you could re-enact that scene from Close Encounters of Third Kind and have the ship sitting in a desert 😄

Ship in a desert? LOL
Reminds me of a story i herad from the Navy SEALs. They transferred a LSSC by helo and the rope was torn. So the LSSC fell on a truck in a desert and the owner of the truck tryed to explain that to his insurance without a result! HAHA!lol!

Hi Holger, I admire who assemble ship kits. Once I've tried to do one, a Aircraft Carrier 1/700. Started and not finished. Many pieces and very small. At that time I did not allow my ability to perform complex tasks, but it was a valid experience. One day I will try again. Watching closely!

Hi Leandro!
This is my first ship kit after many years. Ok, i build a submarine last year in 1:350 but i think this does not count!😢

I have an old 1:700th aircraft carrier that needs finishing off, done all the basics but i bought it as a reference kit as much as anything else for the attempt at scratch building a working 1:48th scale version intended to have a flat bottom and wheels as a giant heli pad and for the launching of micro RC planes, one project I want to get back to but I think I'll do all my Nam stuff first 🙂

yeah me too, hated the war and the death toll and political BS etc. but historically I find it fascinating, I've been on something of kit buying frenzy lately, using some of them as molds for the RC heli stuff but I am getting everything a little more organised so I can approach it all a little more methodically etc. anyhow for the 1:48th Aircraft Carrier I've drawn out some designs using correx as the main material so I can fold the whole thing into a 5 foot by 2 foot by 1 foot carry case and transport it easily and using a collection of support poles to make it rigid upon setting up at the given venue of operation etc. The intention is to have working catapults and elevators with a few micro cameras in the tower and on the flight deck etc.
Would make for a very cool movie, but it is a hell of an ambitious project.
Working RC aircraft first me thinks 🙂

Boy, thats really a hell of an ambitious project but surely rewarding once its finished!!!🙂😄
But how will you make the planes fly? A Tomcat, for example? Will you add a prop to the model?

yeah ducted fan at this scale might work but it is not really good for power to weight etc. but pusher props poking out of the exhausts etc. with clear props hide well especially in flight and at 1:48th scale Phantoms and Tomcats have enough wing area for reasonable flight characteristics, these are good sizes for the indoor flying events 🙂
usually the receiver/servo boards are 4 channel at this size which would serve for ailerons, elevator, throttle and usually rudder but one can use that for something else like retracts, bomb release, arrestor hook release, wing sweep possibly. A4 Skyhawks are possibly too small sadly but F18 Hornets would work and I have had some thoughts about using one of these micro quad copters for the Harrier Jump Jet by hiding the motors in the large wing mounted fuel tanks with the props point down, would mean reverse motor polarities etc. but no problem there but they would hide reasonably well.
And of course there are lots of options with the helis too though Chinooks and Ospreys have some technical issues to overcome with there twin rotors etc. so they come later.
but in my minds eye I can see it all and it would be an awesome project and would make for an awesome working diorama, especially with working lights and other features.
Possibly the trickiest feat would be landing the planes back onto the carrier in a consistently scale fashion particularly judging the glide path to the arrestor wires. But one could set up a split cone light in the stern pointing up at 4-5 degrees that illuminates the underside of the aircraft with multiple colour filter and a laser pointer, red on the edges, green in the middle, laser pointer for dead center, keep the plane in the light cone and flare for touch down, with practice i could see that working quite well in calm conditions.
And then for the final sweet touch 1:48th deck towing vehicles to pull landed aircraft out the way and onto a working elevator etc.
Also stripping down an electric BB gun for the anti aircraft turrets to fend off the Migs etc.
And then.... for the shows etc. make an "enemy" island out of some dirt coloured cloth with some flock glued to it draped over cardboard formers to create the hilly bits, a few buildings plonked onto it, a runway and some helipads for the Mil Mi 24's etc. a few RC tanks, jeeps & trucks, hide a few party poppers under some "designed to be blown up" buildings & vehicles with remote triggers and fill them up with some debri, add some smoke generators, paint the floor blue and then get about about 20 or so pilots and crew to operate all the planes and vehicles etc. and put on a massive micro RC show 😄
Now that is an ambitious project indeed 😄
Like I said, I am thinking big, but in a small way 😄

It is a lot of fun and good practice 🙂
Would be nice to motorise the boat on wheels so one can practice landing on moving platforms etc. I also once built an oil rig too but I scratch built the boat from cardboard and straws and bits of sprue and a broken pair of sun glasses for the radar. I should really do a scratch built album or something 🙂

Ah Holger, you are sweet 🙂
btw got any spare vinyl tracks for a 1:35th tank ?
The ESCI T55 I bought has molded plastic tracks which I won't be able to motorise 🙁 Anything will do as I can bodge them into working 🙂

I would ask Frank Krause. He has a large tank stash and loves to give his tanks Friuls! Its a very kind guy, maybe he can help...

Hi Choppa Nutta,
Friuls are mostly metal tracks for tanks:
T-54/55/62 (Friulmodel ATL-01, 1:35)
Sorry to say, I also don't have vinyl spare tracks of a T-55. The Lindberg ones are surely to old and to stiff, if you need them in running conditions. The Tamiya ones might be to soft, and I would like to keep them for the time being, since I haven't got any modern Friuls to replace the vinyl tracks.

Ah so fair enough, I've just PM'd you about anything vaguely close will do and I see you have answered me before I sent it, neat trick😉
Well it was always a bit of a long shot no worries Frank but if you do some more fruils and you end up with some spare tracks do let me know 😄
I guess my T-55 will have to go on hold for the time being, good job I've got lots of other kits to be getting on with 😄

Hi Choppa Nutta,
🙂 no worries. You could have the Lindberg tracks, but I think, they won't be any good for the purpose you need them.
When I got some Friul tracks for the Tamiya one, you could get the vinyls, but I can't give any time-frame, when this will be.
