Tom ...
So happy you are building this kit. I built this one back in the 70's (I was probably 11 or 12) and it was my favourite model of all time. The ladder actually works! Very nostalgic model for me.

Gentlemen, thank you for stopping by.
The classics (spoke wheels and open wheel arches) are my favourites. This is quite an enjoyable kit to build although far from perfect.
Tom, this kit is older than me. The date on the plastic is 1964. It is an easy kit to build (low part count), the instructions are easy to follow, but as far as seamlines, ejector marks and flash it needs a lot of TLC.
Bughunter, the different colours and pinstriping is eye catching.

Ha, Vos. It's older than me too... by two years 😄
Can't wait to start mine sometime in the future. Been putting it off as I want to do a good job so super glad I get to learn off yours, though won't be doing the kind of detailing you're doing. very impressive indeed. A joy to follow.

Gentlemen, your interest is humbling.
@Bughunter, I am using Brass A MIG-0197 from their Metal acrylic range.
Detail painting and touch-ups continue. I hope to finish the coachwork this week. Waiting for paint to dry in between sessions 🙂

Work continues. The decals behaved perfectly despite being 58 years old. Other than being sealed in with clear gloss, nothing else were used.

While waiting for the oils to dry on the rescue ladders, I have started painting the figures. This is my first attempt at figure painting. The final work on the little fire truck will be the fenders.

Isn't it better to start with the faces? That's the hardest part. In case of problems it is easier to strip of all paint.

Coming right along Villiers 👍 Those figures are looking good too, especially the helmets. Amazed the decals performed flawlessly considering their age!

Gentlemen, thank you for your comments.
All the detail parts attached to build up the rescue ladder. Now to figure out the rope that will operate the ladder.

Gentlemen, thank you for your compliments and interest in the project.
It is starting to look like a fire engine 🙂)
Painting the crew and mudguards remains to be completed.

David, thank you for the comment about the wood effect. Painting and finishing the crew is on the back burner for now.

Geez, the kit is only 1 year older than me. Villiers, the wood effect and finish you achieved is outstanding. I had to go back through the photos to check if you hadn't substituted the plastic ladder for a scratch built one from balsa!

Amazing! You definitely have the Midas touch for building kits - each one a masterpiece.

Stephan and CaptGPF, thank you for the time taken to comment and your kind words.
Stephan, this kit is two years older than me. Seeing all the parts stuffed into a single bag brought back a lot of nostalgia (all pleasant).

Neuling and Mike, thank you for your kind words.
Mike, this was my first attempt at painting figures. I have been avoiding it and although the sculpting dates from 1964, the outcome is not too bad.
