The builder glued the engine nacelles upside down, so I have to break them off and reglue correctly (that DDR glue is really strong 😄)

I wanted to have the rivets and panel lines hardly visible on the white part, so I sanded the white primer a bit, so the raised details sport the darker primer underneath.

Then added the missing lines and rivets and sprayed last white layer on the top.

In order to avoid overspray near the engines, I experimented with these hand made "fading alu" decals 🙂

Rainy weekends speed up the projects usually and this one was no different.
I finished the main spraying, however paint has peeled off here and there.
And I have to add black nose, white wingwalks and brushpaint the engine supports.
The oldest 727s have quite complex painting schemes I have to admit.

You might have been wondering why there were no new pics for last few weeks - well, I managed to drop it from my workbench during decalling 🙁
But as I bought the very last stock of this decal set I decided to fix it and you can behold the results now 🙂
I think I can see the finish line - decided to add underside antenna, fuel release valves, tail skid, landing lights and front gear doors - all to be scratchbuilt.

Will try to simulate that A, once she's completed. 😉
It turned out today was the day on incredibly steady hands and I can announce the overwing exits to be done (scratch-decalled using different black stripes).
Used the Revell's 1/144 Germania decal as a template.

That was an adventurous build I have to admit.
Even more so, when trying to take pics, it's just too big, doesn't fit into my biggest scenery set - The Hangar 😮
So I had to improvise, enjoy

Nice that you pushed this one over the finish line. The 727 is one of the most beautiful jet plane in my opinion. During my apprenticeship I have been able to appreciate the very last Lufthansa one before it was retired. Nice to see its elegant lines in Condor livery (back then still a subsidiary of Lufthansa).
