Thanks a lot Robert! The kit contains a clear nose, the clear panel is a unique feature of the Canadian Vampires. I'm not sure about the reason for it, I guess it's for ease of maintenance.

Hardest part was sanding the intakes in place, as they are too small in height. Be warned of the decals, too. Once positioned, they look really great. But the red parts on the intakes didn't fit ...or I just didn't undertand the genius of the invention. So I had to touch up the area a little, but i'm quite satisfied with the result. The roundels on the wings were sanded smoothly to get rid of the transparent film.

Other than that, the kit is a real gem. The cockpit is very nice, surface detail super-crisp, and the engine interior a nice, but later not to be seen seen goodie. I only used the old diamond tread wheels to come closer the original and scratched the underwing antenna. To imitate the navigation lights, I drilled a little hole from underneath and filled it with a tiny drop of paint.

These Vampires were maintained very well, so only little wheathering in the engine bay area was done with oils. After all, a highly recommeded kit that can be done easily on some evenings in a week.

Thanks for all these explanations (and warnings 😉 ) Really much appreciated. If you ever wished to build a two-seater, I can wholeheartedly recommend Airfix offering.

Great looking Vampire, Mirko! I live about 45 km southwest of St. Hubert. There is a two-seat Vampire that gives rides in Ontario (www.waterloowarbirds.com)
