TreehuggerWould you you consider using a vacuum shaped canopy for this build?
I've started to browse vacuum canopy parts separately, then to track back to kits that the vac forms would fit. Though in my experience some vac canopies aren't that great (not blemish free glass). One canopy piece was even dented when I got it in my mail. 🙁

So we started with the interior assembling and filling some ejector marks.
But Tamiya especially in 48 is really amazing crisp and clean stuff wow!!

in 72 so i have to do this Monster!! 🙂
And gosh it is huge! nearly takes the whole A2 mat.

So the masking is done Phew!!and the Airframe is almost completely fitted together!..
That masking stuff is really one of the challenging stuff with japanese Aircraft, esp. Bombers. 🙂

The only issue is the fuselage part behind the side canopys to the rudders.
There the fuselage is nearly empty inside and i had to cut away the locator pins to get both sides
Fitted perfectly.

@John i use, Ak interactive and Real colors for this build! With the specific thinner they are quite well to handle.
Only the underside is sprayed with Gunze Aquaeous.

Though the Ak interactive colors have to been sprayed quick and only work with their specific thinner. So you have to use the special real color thinner from Ak for their Real Color range🙂

Simon Nagorsniki´ve also some rc colors in stock, used them with tamiya´s "yellow cab" thinner
but i don´t like them so much because i always get a too matt surface and they darkened me too much
maybe I was doing something wrong but now i´m really happy with my vallejo´s 😁

JohnDaniel - I am a big fan of the AK Real Colors and have had good luck with them. I usually mix them pretty thin, at least 50% with their thinner. I used them on my Corsair and Skyray and it turned out well. I also have many colors of the Vallejo Model Air line, but have mixed results with them - still have not figured out the right mixture yet.

@Sebastian..thank you and yes i use the Kits decals for the unit numbers and the small stencil under the elevators.
The Hinomarus are sprayed becaus the decals in the kit crumbled apart.
