Thanks Dietmar! I understand the comment, but it may have been that the lozenge camouflage was not painted or sprayed on, but the entire covering fabric was dyed through in this pattern, as it were. The effect of this is that this lozenge pattern was also visible on the inner sides, where the covering was to be seen.

The decals have been applied once to the fuselage; I am not really satisfied. Compared to the lozenge decals from "Aviattic" for the D.VII, the Eduard decals are a bit colourless, and I am not sure how the pattern runs over the edges of the fuselage. However, with every attempt you learn something new...

Very nice.
Two at a time? Fokker University
Compared to Aviattic, they look greyer? Which set? The new or the weathered set?
Quite a bit of external factors influenced the final overall color at any given time. As I'm sure you know. Application, different manufacturers, weathering.
Very few color pictures of the era have come to light, and while comparing Aviattic as the gold standard, a few short years ago, the lozenge decals from Eagle Editions
was the gold standard.
I wouldn't sweat it Roland, I think it looks fantastic and is a great start.
Looking forward to seeing more of these.

Thanks for the motivating words and the interest!
The Aviattic decals are indeed simply more colorful, more intense and also show a light and not exaggerated "textile texture". It looks really good. By the way, I had two sets, both the factory and weathered editions come to me. They will soon be seen in action on the Fokker D.VII.
Oh yes, "meet the Fokkers" in 1:48! 🙂

The Fokker D.VIII or rather the fuselage is now ready for the assembly of the landing gear and subsequently the wing. The surfaces of the fuselage have been laid out so far, but I would like to make a few improvements, for example, around the pilot's cockpit or by attaching a windscreen made of foil. In addition, some touch-ups are necessary.

The first attempts with "Gaspatch" turnbuckles are done - only two, to be exact. But to test something like this, the "flying razorblade" is of course just right!

Just finished! The Fokker D.VIII shows the first attempt to represent lozenges and turnbuckles - this time from Gaspatch. All in all a very pleasing build, I hope you like the pictures. Thank you for your interest and your motivating comments!

Great job, i love the rigging (and everything else..)
Looking at pic 40, looks like the pilot was struggling to look in front of the plane! The fuselage is almost the same as the Dr.I.
Beautiful bird but this wing is killing me...

Nice razor! I have a different theory regarding the colors, but great craftsmanship. 👍 You always do a great job on every kind of models.

I am very pleased with your answer! Many thanks for the valuable tips, the tip with Aviattic really did the trick-referring to the hints for the D.VII
