F-111A Aardvark
The pilots it came with. They’re identical to the Pilot from Monogram’s Huey Hog.
Replacement figures from Hasegawa. Major surgery required to fit them into the cockpit along with their arms, legs, and feet.
The kit came with extra pylon for each wing but nothing to put on it, so I’m cannibalizing two fuel tanks from an old F-16 kit. Since the weapons attachments are pretty far forward, I’m removing them, and using the attachment points from the tanks themselves.
Attachment points successfully removed.
F-16 drop tanks before separation from their pylons.
Successfully separated. Will sand off the panel lines and smooth out the tanks so it doesn’t look like a 10 year old glued it together. 🙂

Finishing the Monogram F-111A Aardvark I started more than 20 years ago. Mostly out of box, but with Hasegawa pilots instead of the Huey figures that came with the kit, external drop tanks for the extra wing pylons, and an aftermarket pitot tube to replace the one I accidentally snapped off and lost.
