After 3 long years, I finished my Yak 1 M.
Many things caused the long building time.
The kit needed a lot of puty and sanding.
There were 1mm gaps between the canopy and the fuselage, this had to be fixed.
The original Propeller is too big, and looks like a tumor.
I used the spinner of a Rodden LaGG 3, and glued the fins of the kit's propeller onto it and the finished prop on the kit, fits perfectly.
The landing gear was crap, I used the main landing carriage of a Zvezda Yak 3, and the read wheel of a Emhar LaGG 3.
The decals were crap, so I used the decals my dealers decal box offfered, and painted the white 23 was brush painted.
I used Vallejo paints, the green is a mix of 074 and 094. 168 was used for the black part of the cammouflage. And 107 was used for the belly and wing underside.
The white 23 was flown by Lydiya Litvyak, the most famous russian female fighter ace. She was shot down in this plane in 1943.
