There you go bud, you couldn't ask for more 😄
except perhaps for someone to make the model for you and serve it up with posh chocolates and your favourite drink etc, 😄
Anyhow, good subject, I like it 👍

No doubt it will be in 1:48th scale seeing as the decal sheet is available at that scale and with the new Eduard Profi 109 available (a kit I like a lot) looks like your path is set on this one 😄
Anyhow, people on this forum have been quite helpful thus far and I will no doubt require yet more help in the future, especially with regard to weathering techniques etc. so it is only fair I give what I can in return 🙂
I look forward to seeing your project progress, all the best looking 109's had yellow tails imho 😉

Yep, you are right, the best kit for this will be eduards 109! And yellow tails and cowls always look great, yes!
Oh yeah, the people here are very kind and like to help where they can. Only one reason for me to love scalemates! In all the years, im in here now, i only met 2 people who didnt treated me as it should be.
Choppa, you are welcome!;)😄

Yeah I've always been a fan of the more colourful WW2 liveries.
I just wish there was a Technique section in topics, the how to guide for all things from the basics, to painting, decals, weathering, finishing and scratch building etc. as I would like to know how to do dust, rust & crust, what's a salt wash ? splinters and splatters, dirty windshields without ruining your model, battle damage, all things scenery, foliage on a budget, realistic water & splashes, waves, tide marks etc. etc.
Anyhow, I guess I shall learn in time, especially from the examples of others.
Picked up a few handy hints from Genesis Models on youtubery though, though there are plenty of tutorials from people who start off by saying "I don't know how to do this but I am going to do a tutorial anyway" why ??
I would rather learn from the people who do know how to do it etc. 🙂

Hi Chopper,
a lot of onlinemagazines do have a "tipp&hint" section. I´m not on my work pc, but i can send ya a big load of links, featuring weathering and "how to´s" etc. Just drop me a line, on friday i´m back in the office! I hope i dont forget it!...;)
And hey, learning is a steady process. And with time comes routine. I wonder when i will have that day, when routine comes to me...;)😄

I keep seeing great reviews for the Eduard Profipack 1:48 - Bf 109E-1
and the desire was increasing and I've finally given in to temptation especially because of this offer -
PROMOTION Discount -40 % £25.99 - £15.59 !!!!!!!!! 😮
ttp://www.creativemodels.co.uk/eduard_profipack_148_bf_109e1-p-25905.html
how can one say no ? I couldn't 🙂
and after doing a bit of research on your behalf and having a look at the very fine Me 109 again it became a must and especially as it is the E version, my favourite looking Schmitty of them all, the deal was done, arrives next week ! ooh, I just hope I can do it justice 🙂

I very nearly got two !! 😄
Well I do have a few projects on the bench already that need finishing really plus, as tempting as it is, this is one model I do not want to screw up through impatience etc, so I am going to practice a few things I have learned recently on some lesser kits especially the washes and the decalling and the use of the Future/Klear varnish trick and I have an old airbrush that I want to dig out and have a go at using that too, plus I need to think about getting some nice paints in too.
Also one other thing I have not done yet is used photo etch !! ooooh but I am excited as hell though, I am really looking forward to this kit 😄
I've got an Airfix 1:48 spitfire I am halfway through and a Tamiya Harrier same scale almost complete, except for final weathering and decals, they will make good test beds for technique, but I also have some other cheap kits I may do a couple of rapid builds to sort out the Future varnish etc.
Anyhow I just couldn't not hold back on getting this kit any longer, all that umming and ahrring over whether or not I deserved such a fine kit etc.
Have you bought one yet ?
they still have some in stock !! might be cheaper to get one and get it posted to you in Germany, or not, not sure but £15.59 !!!
Can not say no !!
Btw, please please PM those hints and tips links please 🙂

The pilot is Ofw Hans Illner, with his Weisse 2 (note the rounded 2, compared to the squared 2 in the decal sheet). He was captured flying another 109, Weisse 6, on November 5th 1940, after crashing due to losing the starboard wing during a high speed dive trying to evade a spitfire. Lucky man to have survived, I think!

Omg its arrived already !
Wow what a kit ! I am as excited as I am intimidated, especially by the pe parts, I can't imagine ever tackling pe in 1:72nd scale....
This for me is definitely a kit to savour 🙂

This is a tempting paint scheme for me as it has all the features I like, it still exists, the wing tips are also yellow and the fuselage camo comes down to the bottom of the canopy 🙂
though you might have to copy and paste the link into the address bar as Scalemates doesn't seem to like using all of the link to go to other web pages I've noticed, link management seems buggy

Hey folks!
I found this pic online and love the noseart. Does anyone know a decalsheet providing it or do you know more about the history of the plane?
