Daniel KlinkNow i remember why i choose the japanese designs as my favorite field.
Like the italian they had a unique Design though the appearance of the Airplanes wasn't uncommon at all.
Like those round but at the same time sleek and elegant design..

Your color looks quite pale compared to the box image, but that can also be due to the light. The box picture will be so beautiful and noble with the strong dark gold and the colorful stripes ... But I assume you will manage this!

After all decals are applied and all decoration is painted it will become a mix of smoke and silk clearcoat
I hope that this will give the colors more depth and shine.

Daniel KlinkIn fact that golden effect appeared as result of a fading clear coat on a alu finish!
In german its called „vergilben"!
But it is rather theoretical!
In pics the original looks rather faded and pale in
A lot areas!
But hey i like the shiny look of it somehow????

15% IJa Khaki 71.287 Vallejo
5% Yellow 71.087 Vallejo
and thinned the whole mixture 70/30 with Vallejo Airbrush thinner

The Decals crumbled to pieces whn touching them in dried condition.
Always the same mess with the Fujimi Decals... too thick or too thin...

Daniel KlinkHi Guys, thank yu all for your kind words... But it is not ready yet.
I sprayed all the decals new, except o the wing bands. I used a hairdryer but was not focused enough and limped the antenna 🙂 canopy have to be redone😉
I am Gad most of you like the colors.. iam quite satisfied too .. That red of the tail is delievered from Bunrindo as not deep red instead it was a
purple red tone. But this coul also have been a weathering effect caused by paling by the sun. Who knows..
I like it that way..
Now just some more details ( wire, signal lights etc..and a smoke semimatt coat)
@Frank that is the best use or them.. 🙂

Beware... Is it possible that the red line of the tail does not seem to be straight at the bottom due to the masked effect? I think gold color have a little red in that area (pic 24).

luciano gianfilippiMany years ago I build my A5M4 in 1/72 scale model from Nichimo (the only kit in old time...), in recent years another A5M2a from Fujimi, and A5M2b from Doyusha. both of better quality; last year I bought one !/72 scale A5M4-k (AVI Models 72004) made in CZ, I HOPE TO BUILD THIS YEAR; your model is very good and I will use as reference point for my next work; only one doubt with the figure: perhaps in 1939 the Japanese Navy pilot dont wear the flag hinomaru on the suits arm (it was common from 1944 until 1945...) ?
