With these pictures I would like to start this building process; a bit rough the whole thing, but I do what I can 🙂

Very nice start on the interior. I started on the Heller kit but about to give up because of the raised panel lines. The A&A kit is a savior with the recessed lines. Good Luck!

I am working my way from the stern to the bow with the filling, sanding and re-engraving; at the moment I have arrived behind the air intakes.
A question for the knowledgeable community: I would appreciate any information on what is hidden behind the transparent flat dome on the underside. The instructions suggest painting it in "radome colour". Do you have any idea what was behind it?

You are only too right 🙂Slowly the putty and the CA glue used for the putty is getting less and less - and the shapes are getting more and more similar to a Mirage IV 🙂

Behind the dome is the bombing/navigation Thompson CS ARCANA radar that's housed within an oblique-facing radome. The nose of the IV has no radar, only cameras and other avionics equipment.
I'm not sure why the model dome piece is transparent, but I don't think the dome is transparent on the real plane. The dome color is a light beige with a slight yellow tint. There is a thin white band around the dome. Unless you're building a factory new IV, the dome quickly begins to show wear on the real plane.

The construction of this beautifully shaped Mirage is quite a bit..... a little elaborate, I would like to say. The pictures show the newer construction steps, with each coat of primer revealing new flaws that have to be repaired and re-sanded (and re-scribed)
But beauty obliges, you can't just staple a Mirage IV together 🙂

An intermediate step; I would like to unify the different metal shades again somewhat.
