Thanks! Good progress this afternoon with black basing and white marbeling. Colour is RC214, Lichtgrau RAL 7035. Hataka's A201 Voodoo Grey, FS 16515, was just a hue too dark/blueish but would look spot on on a 1/48th Canadian Voodoo. USAF colour is even bluer/darker.

Thanks, that is well needed encouragement! Just fighting with the quite robust decals. Went for 425 Alouettes Sqdn. A/c 056 was credited with three cold war kill markings for successful intercepts (bear hunts).

Looking good in those Canadian markings! I still remember building this kit back in the 90's. I was blown away from all those recessed lines and detail. Most of the other Revell kits from that period couldn't keep up. And the decals were super thin and almost looked like painted on. Makes me want to build it again.

Thanks Bernd! I agree, surface detail and even the oob cockpit is darn fine. On the downside it has a rather poor fit on the intakes/splitters. But as I bought the chubby lark for just 8,00 € without decals, I won't complain too much about it. Compared to the 20 years younger Valom kits, it still stands its ground. As there's no better kit/plan B, you just have to live with it.
The decals from Leading Edge were pretty thick. This lead to a good amount of clear coats, some rivets and panel lines were lost in this process. I tried to rescribe some of them, in more hideous areas a thin pencil came to the rescue.
To field a Canadian Voodoo some minor details had to be fixed. Not much left to do now, only the scary parts. 🙂 (Cockpit gaskets and canopy lift, pitot tube, some antennas.) But so far, I'm quite satisfied. Nice evening everyone!
