I can't believe how much weight I needed to get this to be definitely not a tail sitter !!
16 pence and ounce of Plasticine ! Chunky ! 🙂
Still though the painted on detail cheap trick kind of works, saved me a fortune in photoetch !! 😄

yeah it's a dog alright !! 🙂
the interior was so bare it was like a canvas, so I thought I'd have a go at painting on the details rather than scratch building them, a cheap trick but once closed up it should give an ok impression of an interior 🙂

Just a word of waring. Plastine can contain softeners that "could"destroy the polystyrene ... Had my share of experience ...

Cheers chaps 👍
Mark, I didn't know that, I've been using plasticine nose weights for a while now no problems as yet but I'll keep an eye for it now 🙂
But I did give the surface a couple coats of paint, a clear coat and where the plasticine touches a layer of Revells Contacta, that should it back for a while I would hope 🙂
Mind you I did put a fair bit in the leading edges of the wings with the plastic unpainted, well as Derek put it, too late to change, Ka Ching ! 🙂
The Plasticine Rot Experiment has begun !!
I'd best keep the paint job nice and simple then 🙂
Cheers chaps 👍

I can only guess, but there are real differences in the quality. Artist quality is sulphur free. The paint should do the job.

Artist quality ? I bought the branded Plasticine stuff, is that the same thing ?
It's the nicest to use that I have found so far, didn't think there might be an artist quality version of it..

Just checked.
There are different recipes.
Seems like the US version also includes petroleum jelly ...

So far, really wonderful Choppa. You made a great job with the interieurs. Mine (I've done it 5 years ago) unfortunately must be supported by a transparent stick under the tail....and all for save my cents ;D

the hull wasn't glued good enough 😄 - as far as I can remember back in the 70th glue came in a bulky tube - which gave you too much or to less glue or the tube got broken and everything was overglued ;D

.......You are way to kind Marko, no really, I cheated !!
All that detail is largely paint onto a flat surface with some felt pen drawn over the top,
impressionist modelling one might say😉
But I do appreciate your encouragement 😄

And I thought the 'impression' was that left in the plasticine! Seriously though, it looks brilliant! Will this be the 'next thing' after graduated shading?

Looks good. The Mig -29 is finally almost finished, there are some new pictures of it up,and before you say anything I know they suck, I did something to my camera and can't figure out what I did. I have tried taking it back to the default settings but that doesn't change anything.

Missed this so far, wow, nice work on the interior. A good idea to paint it and your painting was like the painting of an artist and makes it close to 3D. Very nice work Choppa!

Thanks ever so much guys, hugely appreciated feedback, you are literally too kind 🙂
I'm just stuck on the shockingly poor fit of the canopy at the moment,
even the turd polish is gonna struggle with this one ! 😄

Interior looks great Choppa! The seam Lines on the fuselage were horrible on my kit. Still in the fill-sand-fill stage.
