Flying gliders is a great experience, too. I especially liked the start, attached to the tug plane.
You should try it if you get the chance.

It was a gift from my wife - half an hour flight in the ultralight plane (Tecnam P2002JF). All was fine until the instructor let me control the plane. I was soooo focused to keep it flying straight that I had no time to admire the view... and then he asked me to turn left, and turn right, ant then turn left more sharply, and then turn right more sharply, and finally to align the plane with the axis of the landing strip... Fortunately, I was not allowed to land 😉 Absolutely fantastic experience!!!
