With these pictures I would like to open the project on the next glider project. RS Models packs extremely helpful etched parts in the box, which help to detail the pilot's seat and the bench in the fuselage well. With all that said: I only added the seat belts to the pilot's seat, as the MG gunner's harnesses hanging from the ceiling behind it will hide the view of the interior as much as possible.

That are really "Glider weeks" on your bench! I think it was not a big fun as "passenger" inside, to not know what to expect on the ground, after only one chance to go down.

So, no seat belts for the paratroopers / assault troops ?

According to wikipedia the 9 on the bench had only grab handles.

Are you planning on adding a diorama?

Thank you for your feedback!
Indeed, definitely more "economy class"... To be precise: RS includes etched part seat belts, which helped secure the soldiers riding on the beam in the direction of flight. However, definitely nothing of the interior will be visible, neither through the windows nor from the front, as the harness of the MG gunner prevents a view. So I took the liberty of putting them in the spare parts box.
No, I am not planning a dio here. However, I will take the first steps in this direction with the following "glider project": a Me-321 and a Sd.Kfz:9 will play the main roles here.

This is the final equipment - with the fuselage halves closed, it became apparent that there is more insight possible than expected. The harness is from Eduard.

That is the danger of social networks (even scalemates). The pressure of the onlookers which is difficult to resist... 👀

Oh yes 🙂 Let's just call it: motivation!

Here, too, something new is happening: a little effort was necessary to sand the fuselage halves and to properly close the various openings. At the end of this step, I anchored pins from a brass rod in their own holes in some places for stability or for the sake of the correct appearance - this mainly concerns the tail construction.

Attaching the wings worked well thanks to the pins. You can see here the unusual proportions of the DFS 230 ready for the application of the underside paint.

Well, a first round of "winter camouflage" - or at least my interpretation of it... I have also applied a little dirt and traces of use. This is supposed to be a well "soiled" specimen.

The third assault glider in this series is finished! The glider shows my interpretation of a winter camouflage as proposed for this DFS 230C of the IV/LLG 1 des by RS-Models. The prototype was flown in 1943. I made sure to apply quite proper dirt marks, as these "pack mules" were indeed used quite heavily.
Thank you for your interest, I hope you like the result!

The DFS is so tiny compared to the Horsa. I think you did it justice.

Thank you Olivier! Indeed, the Horsa is a quite impressive ship!
Especially with the winter camouflage I have my uncertainties. But I think that every machine camouflaged in this way was unique - and so it´s fine for me the way it is 🙂

Really pity, that the nice internal details are mostly hidden - but we all know now it's there 😉
The white stripes are very well done, impressive airbrush work 👍

So now we expect a Gotha 242 to complete the family.

Thank you all mates for these kind motivations!
Indeed Olivier, I'm going to build two more of ICM's new Gotha 242s in this series, as a finale so to speak. Before that, however, I will continue with a Me 321 Gigant and a second DFS 230, but this one in 1/35th scale from Bronco.
I'm honestly glad you like the winter camouflaged glider!
