When I was recently clearing out a box of old models in the attic, I found a little treasure. The airliner models from the early 80s had a nose weight in the form of old tin soldiers. The soldiers acted as a lead substitute and were fixed in the model with sticky tape, modeling clay and glue. I knew from back then that something always rattled in the models (a work colleague of my father gave me these models in the early 80s) but I didn't think much of it. Maybe one or two people even know the brand or the Nationality of the Soldiers.
