my next start is a 500 SL (R129).
Started with sanding the body and scribe the panel llines a little deeper. also i glued in the backparts of the seats and filled the gaps with putty. sanded them smooth and ready for fille,
The interior is flocked with carped and first layer of primer.
Now i know, why i hate red palstic....three layers,, pinkish look. I'm lucky, tht this one has to be tan and the body will be navy blue.

...and now the things are getting complicated.
For a convertible, the details on the interiors are really bad from the fujimi.
luckily, i found some partscars from Tamiya on ebay. so i decided to choose the chassis with interior from the Tamiya and replace the sh*** from Fujimi.
You can see the differents between the details on the picture beside each other (Fujimi left, Tamiya right)
And - i was to fast with painting the body - now, i have to transfer the "rooflid":
That means, the rooflid is on the interior from the fujimi and the Tamiya has it on the body.
So than...cutting, sanding, testing, sanding, cutting and testing...and testing....and at the end, the lid was perfect.
Of cours, the lid was repainted. On the other hand, the blue came out too dark. And that means. it has to be repainted again *lol* ...and i forgot the hardtop to paint! perfect, buddy...clap on my shoulders and " well done".
If you think, you reach the finish line on the body, than start again *lol*.

On the last three pictures you see the hardtop - from black, to primer, to blue. Perhaps, the color is lighter thann the body.

Long time ago, the last update.
As I mentioned, the hardtop was lighter than the body. That means, I have to respray the body again.
What was the Reason? I think the paint wasn't mixed properly.... lesson learned on this one.
But that wasn't a bad thing, so I had the chance, to overhaul a paint chip on the rear. Sanded it out and in this case, the repaint was perfect!
Next on the list was to repaint the interior. Black accent on dashboard, door panels and seats. To complete the interior was a piece of cake 😄.
Now a let the body sit to dry and ready for the finish . Cool.
It came out really good, with a final layer of clear, perfect.

looong time ago, this Mercedes was finished - but i has forgot to finish the WIP.
Last things on it was gluing the windshield in place and marriage the whole model. Because of dozens test-fitting during the build, it runs like water 😉
Had no issues and with all precision, i finished the model without and gluetabs of fingerprints! hurrah!
