Roland SachsenhoferAfter applying the white, I sanded over with sandpaper everywhere where there were impurities due to the delicate nature of the colour white. With one more spray the surface should be ready for the decals!

Roland SachsenhoferWith this kit, or rather this example, the functioning of the decals is the be-all and end-all. Today I tried out the decals - and I am at least as relieved as I am delighted: they are simply excellent to work with and are of the very best quality! I am looking forward to completing the surfaces in the next few days.

Roland SachsenhoferThe surfaces are now so far finished, only a few touch-ups should be made here and there. I am already looking forward to the assembly of the large, open cockpit canopy - the end of the project is in sight!

Roland SachsenhoferSorry to post so many pictures, but the T-1A is just an all too attractive photo subject 🙂 The model is now finished- and may I say, one of the best kits I ever had the pleasure to build! I will certainly treat myself to a second one, there are plenty of colour schemes.
The only additions I made were to the cockpit, the stabilising struts of the tanks were made of metal and the pitot tube was improvised from two needle cannulas pushed into each other. Everything else was built out of the box. I hope you like it - thanks for all your inspiring comments and your interest!

playtime 222Excellent work (doubly so as I just saw this is 1/72 not 1/48!). This is one of those planes that would confuse aircraft recognition competitions (yes, they exist) cos it's similar to an unrelated type e.g. a sabre. So for your next one, I challenge you to do the T-4 so I can go on about how it doesn't quite look like an Alpha Jet 😄
