Had to stay home sick today, so I decided to spend some time at my bench....Working with PE for the first time was "fun" :-|

What's the latest word in Afrika Tigers btw? Were they originally Panzergrau and then oversprayed with Sandgelb? Or is that debate still ongoing?

Beterschap....maar lekker blijven plakken. Heb ook nog weinig ervaring met PE. Gebruik je seconde lijm?

Wim van der Luijt
ja secondenlijm en die doet er dan net te lang over om echt te gaan plakken 🙁

Hi wim - yes the colordiscussions seems to be a never ending story-
The directives say RAL 8020 an RAL 8027 from the factory on, but it seem that the colors RAL 7027 and RAL 7028 were used too. And so on an on...
I for myself used for the first layer a Panzergrey and then I will work on with 8020 or "Dunkelgelb nach Muster" or a sandy tone. For me it's not a mistake, because the colors will diversify by the modulation style, the washes and the pigments. I believe it is a sense of feeling. Hope it hels you a little bit.

The german forces used so many types of paint, their own, british and italian, you can nearly use every yellow tone you like!
There are rumors that say that in the DAK where even green Tigers...

Good tips....I'm not the type for 100% accuracy anyway, I mix my own colours most of the time..."if it looks good, it is good!" 😉 (a green tiger would be kind of cool...)

Hi Wim...
I'm interested in your statement...
" My first time working with Photo Etch....it's a steep learning curve...not sure if I'm enjoying it. "
I'd love to know (as I've been using P/E for so long I've forgotten) what was difficult in the learning? what are your likes and dislikes, pro's and con's of your new experience in using P/E???

Oh!!!
And will you be using it again???🙂

Mainly it's about finding out that I need a proper tool to bend the smallest of the parts (hold'n'fold or similar) and I had some trouble with my CA glue....it's just not fast enough...so I sit there trying to hold tiny parts in place...not fun! But the level of detail that is achieved with PE is great so I will definitely be using it again

Hey Wim, i know the trouble with the small part to hold in place. I got myself an "Activator-pen". That provides you some instant stick of the parts on their place cause it gives the ca some immediate "Grip"!

Wim van der Luijt
what's the make of that pen Holger?
