It's a pity that this beauty is exhibited in NASM Washington DC in the quite a dark space... Still, she looks absolutely impressive.

Feel warmly welcomed, Nicholas, Jennifer and Michael! It is good to have you all on board. @Michael - the model will be assembled in 'in-flight' version to show these perfect lines (not that I am lazy to construct the interior and undercarriage 😉 )

I am not a masochist, Łukasz 😉 I tackle a Mach 2 kit if and only if there is no other option...

Some minor issues must be addressed, John, but nothing too troublesome (especially when you build the 'landing gear-up' version 😉 I have also the "Jet & Rocket" version in my stash, so some combat reconaissance will be useful 😉

hey Robert,
Interesting model from the beginning of the Jet era and beautifully built and painted.👍

I announce my model finished (and I have quite a substantial number of spare goodies for the planned 'jet & rocket' version of Skyrocket).

Thank you, Mates! IMO this plane looked much better in flight than on the ground.

Robert, congratulations on completing this interesting model. Well done! 👍
I also like the joint photo with the Bell X-2 model. Do you plan to add another "little brother"? 😉

Very nice how this has turned out Robert. I agree, it looks excellent in flight, very fast!

That escalated quickly! Looks very elegant in flight mode, probably Mach2 edition wouldn't 😉

Thank you very much for your kind words, Mates!
@Łukasz - I suppose it wouldn't (my first attempt at Bell X-2 model was a Mach 2 offering and the effect was the same as here: modelingmadness.com/..korean/us/hammx2.htm;
@Ludvik - the next in the line is: X-1E "Last Model" (Special Hobby SH72158, 1:72) 😉

Robert, the X-1E is a great choice! I'm looking forward to another interesting aircraft. Plus, the X-1E will be a great addition to your collection of American experimental fast aircraft. 😉

I suppose the X-1 already stands somewhere in your cabinet, as it is not allowed to build 2 before 1. 😜
If not some splash of orange will be a nice change. Tamiyas X-1 is pretty buildable as long as you do not expect a Tamiya-kit.

Oh my! I broke a rule!... In fact I built Tamiya's X-1 long time ago... I have a Eduard X-1 in my stash waiting for better times 😉 With respect to splash of colour - I have a 'Crimson Test Tube' (Douglas 'Skystreak'), too...

I see that I left only silky comments but failed to congratulate you to a lovely build of a sleek plane. Looks fast and good. Well done.
