A6M3a (Type22) Zero " Ace Takeo Okomura Buin 1943
Battle for the Solomon Islands Forgotten ace

After a long time i finally was able to get some original markings for the Aircraft of one of the forgotten Aces of the japanese Navy Airforce.
On 14th Septembre 1943 Okomura downed 10 enemy Aircraft during the defence of the Buin Atoll in 5 hours with this Aircraft (WI-108), explodingfueltanks.com/okumura/index.html
and a sum of reported 50 during the Battle for the solomon islands, earlier with the well known Tainan-air group, before he joint the 201st air group.
Thi spilot is less known and in aftermarket decals or original releases rare to find.
Corgi did a die cast of his machine years ago.
So i will give the excellent Tamiya kit another go with the techmod aftermarket decals.
