The start is made here by pictures representing both kits of the double construction; later they will diversify. Tamiya qualities everywhere you look! For this there is also, typical for Tamiya, room for detailing....

Thank you mates!
Well, my mistake! Maybe we can agree on: "Tamigawa qualities"!

I particularly like the elaborate Digi-camo of your cutting mat. I suppose loads of research got into that. 😜

I hate to waste the tamiya tape but every once in a while I have to just scrape off all that I have stored like you do because it gets on my nerves, haha. Oh and very nice cockpits, I like the weathering/chipping on the sidewalls. 👍

Faster than the two Tornados, this build site: the two N1K1s both get a full NMF finish: the US machine is as well as in metal, the Japanese version has an aluminium underside

Once again, the two N1K1s are united in a gallery: on the Japanese machine, the orange front edges were masked off, and those areas were protected with Maskol that would later show chipped paint.
The N1K1 taken over from the "TAI" is now ready for marking!

Here, too, the completion is slowly becoming apparent: I won't be making any major changes to the surfaces, and I'm looking forward to seeing the American N1K1 take its final shape!

The first N1K1 has crossed the finish line - I was able to take some pictures of the finished model today.
When designing the two "George" I actually allowed myself some effort and tried to build as cleanly as possible. Except for the etched part cockpit ingredients I built "OOB", only the pitot tube was made of two needle cannulas pushed into each other.
Herewith the first N1K1 is finished! I hope you like the result and thank you for your interest!

Fabulous stuff Roland as always. I love your jungle backdrop. Is it a vinyl screen or photoshopped?

Thank you for your words, mates!
For the background I used a scenery from "Cosatl Kits" applied on vinyl, the underground on which the N1K1 stands was made by me with "electrostatic" grass. I am glad that you like the result!

Very nice final shots of the american version. Very clean build and spot on NMF.

Nice alternative marking choice. Great build and photos. Hmmm, I think I still like the original scheme on your other build better. A hard choice for sure!

Very realistic diorama in top presentation! And I like the aircraft finish.

I really appreciate reading your interested and motivating feedback- thank you for that!
Nathan, the second N1K1 is finished, soon you can make the comparison in the scenery. 🙂
