These pictures open the construction of this remarkable early helicopter. They show a few of the many components that will make up the fuselage of the rotorcraft.
I have primed once and applied a bit of preshading to liven up the uniformly applied RLM 71.
This is something really varied and new! 🙂

I'm glad to hear that, thank you Rui and Lex!
A few new pictures show a condition that no longer exists: after the photos were taken, the front open fuselage section was covered with a total of seven "sheets". Unfortunately, these parts are of extremely poor fitting accuracy, which is exacerbated by the unstable geometry of the fragile substructure.
The next step will now be to use putty and sandpaper to return to an attractive appearance.

The result after some heavy sanding: the fairings now fit quite well! The engravings of the various latches and locks were lost in the process and were retrofitted. I used masking tape cut to size as well as suitable pieces from the etched parts stock.

The Flettner FL 282 is now completed! A truly spectacular and worth seeing original and a fragile and not so easy to build model! 🙂
In any case, I am glad to have this early Flettner helicopter now ready in front of me. Thanks for your interest and feedback!

Thank you very much for your words!
Robert, according to my logbook entries I already started with FL 282 on 15 January.... so everything is not so tough 🙂

Thank you both! Yes, Simon, I'm glad I documented everything somewhat photographically before most of it disappeared behind the panelling 🙂

Indeed it looks very fragile. And this should fly? Well on Youtube there's the proof that it really did.
And it looks like he could still get along pretty well.
And Roland, you've made a beautiful model that does the real thing justice 👍

Gotta love YouTube! I was looking at some footage of the B-58 this afternoon, really brings those historical aircraft to life.
