Wetsanding and sanding off lots off gluebadges. Little bit of rescribing and removed the transparent parts which were blind and damped by the cement.

If I could make a request, I would like to see some super subtle panel lines, after filling the panel lines with a wash. I am looking to get this 1:144 cargo jet and a review unfortunately point out that the panel lines in that particular kit I am interested in, are too large, so I was thinking, I could maybe try having a very light color for the panels lines hoping that the panel lines won't stand out too much that way if the panel lines are really too large/deep for the 1:144 scale. 🙂 I have no idea how that would look like if the panel lines are super subtle.

Hi Treehugger, That is a possibility. you can also use a bit more of color for the base coat or use Mr Gunze Surfacer.
Slowly i remember why i put this thing aside.. The fit of the small parts and the windows is terrible 🙂

Some progress, iintensiv cleaning and Sanding of the Canopy and Transparent parts till they fit.
Little bit of future treatment before masking them 🙂
Drilled holes in the exhaust pipes and the 20mm cannons in the nosefront etc.
As far as i can say by now thanks for the reminder Katya 👍 It is fun and seems to turn out well

Looking great! The Japanese made some very elegant 2-engined planes. I remember MPM also did a high-tech version, how is the detail on this one?

@Greg yes as long as there is the slightest chance to get an acceptable result 👍
@Cuajete Thank you mate
@Neuling Thank you for the encouraging words . Yes it is a really attractive airplane 👍
@Paul Thank you ! Indeed they did so 👍 The detail is rather poor. No engines etc.
I think the HI tech offering would offer a lot of more possibilities for Detailing.

Did you add any putty to get a better fit for the canopy?
Working with putty is so much more fun for me when I stopped using the obnoxious Tamiya putty I had from earlier.

@Martin, 100 points 👍
@Katya I would like to do an NMF but this would be What if because there is no photo or other evidence of how a NMF Ki.83 would have looked alike. The special hobby boxing shows an alternative marking that most probably never existed.
The half dark and half Light Green gray camo is documented and evident in dozens of pictures.
But despite of the Emily future japanese projects will be mor colorful i promise😢

Thank you Bart very much appreciated 👍 It was the right decision to save this yes.
Ok it is not the same as a built new out of the box. There are issues which went not as well as planned, but it could be worse.

Exactly Katya.. Thats really crap. Will try to get replacement by Special Hobby but i doubt that they will have a canopy in stock. And i don't know any Vacu alternatives from Falcon etc.

I really hope you can sort this problem out, and that it will all turn out ok. You have been doing an amazing job with this and you make awesome models, so I wish you all the best. 🙂

Maybe you van glue the cockpit together like this and sand it thinner. Then fill it up at the inside with blutack or the like. Then heat a sheet of blister-foil and pull it over the form. Then it's cutting and sanding...

Wow... did you step on it? It looks like you've got all the pieces. Maybe some careful glueing, some sanding and a lot of Future might make it passable. Or... you could turn the diorama into "Fire in the cockpit!" And have lots of cotton smoke pouring out the holes...😉
Or, you could do what Martin did with my last good advice and put a homemade "Just Married" decal over the mistake... 😄

Ahahahahaha Greg made my day🙂 Or perhaps a Sony audio sticker😉
Thank you all for your helpful hints and answers 👍
This happened:
As i wanted to glue the canopy with some pressure correctlly and gapless onto the fuselage the whole plane plane slipped out of a ferrule because the rubber from the ferrule arms slipped on the canopy and the ki.83 made a backward catapult start and hit the wall flat on the backside. And the ´anopy absorbed most of the
Crash energy and shattered into peaces. That was also luck because the rest of the plane is nearly without damage.

Oliver, this is the two seater version, the radio operator sits inside the fuselage nearer the tail, you can see the little windows.
