Mig-19 salvaging old kit - during Covid 19

During in Covid time I was confined back to my home. I looked back at my old unfinished modelkit, abandonned 20 years ago and broken due to different moves.
I took the decision to finish them.
here is the state I found this old Mig-19 : unfinished, dusty, brush painted silver, no filling, the huge gap, large thick glue spots, fuselage and wings large seamline, several broken and lost pieces.

the kit date back back tot he 70's, raised panel line and a nice hedgehog riveting style. so the first part was to remove dust (dead insect inside !) and the uneven initial enamel paint. of course a lot break in the process.

here is the follow up : after removing the paint and cleaning in soapy whater some close pics on how messy it is. To preserve some raised detail (rivet and pannel line) it is not possible to sand.

as the wheels were in very bad shape I decided to fill in to present the plane in flight

Thank you David, here is the canopy preparation and the first coat of gloss black. revealing all the imperfection of the kit, the assembling and the replacement. I fixed them as much as I could but far from perfect.

here the pictures of the final model. a lot of work far from perfect in particular in metallic shine but look like a Mig-19. Despite multitude of boxes, only 2 mold on the market all pre date 80s. I will definitively try another build. this time with brand new kit.
