Except for adding the water effects, it is done. I am going to dress out the sides of the box so it is smoother looking and blends in with the scenery some. The tank is OOB (Trumpeter 1/16 T-34/85), the GIs, grass, fish and the snake are all 3D printed. The lines don't show up on the figures in person so much, it is amazing how much they show up on camera!
The scene is set in August 1950, Korea, 2nd month of the conflict. The most Communist tanks were used in the first 3 months of the war, after that they weren't used in great numbers. They North Koreans and Chinese used T-34/85s they had received from Russia.
This tank was crossing a creek when it got hit from behind, a M-20 recoiless rifle shooting it in the transmission. The impact disable the tank and it was abandoned. American GIs found it and painted graffiti on it, "Wolfhounds" on the barrel, 2nd Div and a fox head on the front bumpers, "courtesy of Fox Co" on the side of the turret. Another patrol has come accross the wreckage, the squad leader standing on the tank for some election to scout ahead with his binoculars.
There are the remains of a dock that was crushed by the tank right as it was disabled. A Manchurian Water Snake is seen coming out from under the front of the tank. And a school of fish are swimming away from the one GI near the dock remains.
The grass is all 3D printed. I found a file to make printed grass. I was pleasantly surprised that the file worked so well! Painted them dark green, than highlighted them with a chestnur brown and then took a fan brush to the tips with yellow and red paint. I might add a small, downed tree to the scene before I add the water effects. Not sure yet. There is already a lot going on in the scene.
During the war, 34 US tanks were knocked out by the enemy, only 15 were totally lost. Communist forces lost a confirmed 97 T-34/85s and another 18 listed as porbable losses.
