This is my almost completed F-80C...the kit was very fine to build, I used an Eduard PE-Set to put more detail into it. Its the first time that I have used my AK Xtreme Metal colours...everything went well with them, easy to apply, but you have to respect the drying times! Only thing to do is to put some weight into it and close the radar (landing light?) cover. I decided to not use the external tanks, as the Jet looks more elegant to me without them 😉 Hope you like it, Cheers, Christian

I was on the fence about getting this kit, but not anymore. What a great build!

Thanks again, very glad that you like it!
@Ulf - its indeed a tweezer, as the weight was not available at this moment...I will try to post some photos of the completed model soon...
@Guido - I have never used Alclad but the revell colours for my former nmf...As I saw them in a magazin, I had to buy some colours of Xtreme Metal. The paint is very easy to use, and with a great effect. But you have to respect drying times (48h) and the chrome colour has to be applied after the black primer to get it fully shining (not seen on this model). I also used my usual steps in painting, so put a gloss Revell-coat after the finish, decals, washing and then a semi-gloss layer.
Cheers, and have fun with your P-47s! Christian

Thank you guys!
@Ulf 😉
@Derek, I decaled it like mentioned the instruction sheet, but you make me thinking about it...usually this area should be a stepping area, ore not??? Or is it meant opposite?
Is anybody here who is able to clearify this, maybe I will be able to correct it.
Cheers ,Christian

What a beautiful and neat paint job! I am going to use AK Xtreme Metal paint on my next project. Is the black primer you used a gloss finish?

Christian - I think you have fallen foul of some poor instructions - the 'No Step' red bordered area should be at the rear edge of the wings, (the thin part over the flaps - look at the box top - I think that shows it correctly). Otherwise, check some other references. Sorry again! The paintwork is still miles better than I could ever possibly hope to do.

Yes, I checked the pics again, and its definitely wrong...so the instruction is very poor at this point - this is really annoying.
@Bill - the black primer of AK is glossy, but I didnt use it for this project.
Again, thanks to all for your compliments!

Thanks again for your motivating words!
@Roland, dein Tipp mit der Schablone bei deiner 1:32er F-80 hat einen wesentlichen Beitrag zum Gelingen geleistet!
