About the glider:
SZD-15 Sroka - a Polish single-seat training glider designed to train intermediate pilots constructed at the Glider Experimental Plant in Bielsko-Biała in 1955-1956. It was one of the designs submitted in the League of Friends of the Soldier competition for a new training glider. The design competed (and was eventually selected) with the SZD-16 Gil design. All in all, having no special advantages, it was eventually produced in the number of 2 prototype copies and 20 serial copies.
About the copy:
Unfortunately, I know very little about this copy - its biggest advantage was the fact that several shots of this glider from different sides are available online, which made it possible to reproduce quite faithfully its painting.
About the model:
The model was based on the design of colleague Vieh_san from the Modelwork forum. He also printed it on his printer 🙂 . The project required several corrections (we exchanged correspondence on this subject with the colleague) and from myself, traditionally, I added a few details (the most visible are the brakes on the wings). I also had to develop my own decals to match the SP-1720. Personally, I would classify my product as average - I did not manage to remove all 3D artifacts and also at the finishing stage I had some problems related to the brittleness of the resin. However, I do not hide the fact that in the end I view it surrounded by other gliders with pleasure 🙂
