Fiddley little tanks

I was very much how can I say this wishing I had started with the bigger scale in the end I could not believe just how fiddley things in the braille scale had become ( now I know why war gamers have turned to the Armour Fast plastic soldier company for there tanks lol) the tracks all though intricate were to say the least small tiny and a few words I will not use here !!!!!! they were singular which I can see for myself that they do look much more realistic then the good old fashioned rubber ones I also managed to lose one of the track guide wheels to the faihful old Carpet Monster ? for which I had to improvise later on I also messed about with different camo colours as the Nashorn I was trying to portray had seen action elsewhere and faintly you could see different camo colours in the old picture that I had of it with its winter camo over the top The Nashorn was from the Hungarian front somewhere between the danube and borders

this kit is still one of the best around in the small "true" scale... a lot of fiddly parts in the gun also... just to give a warning... Will you clean up the tracks later on?

Hi Bart Yea I am going to be sorting out the tracks when I get close to finishing the base that I am putting it on mostly snow and mud it is a dio for a good friend who wanted me to create a scene from the winter of 1944/45 he had a relative that fought in the Hungarian Army I have a picture with a Nashorn sitting close to a barn with a small stream it was perched on a small incline superb for sniping the advancing Russian armour so will do some work on the tracks and wheels then

I started to start the top of the structure and saw that the sides of the tank were slightly wider than the width of the tracks I decided to resit it slightly and then do any filling that needed to be done

Picture 4
I was really surprised at the amount of detail in this little kit as fiddly as it was there was some real satisfaction in the amount of detail

Well moving on with the build I started on the gun and was very much surprised at the accurate detail it really looks good a lot of time and thought have gone into this kit. However I was moaning about the size of the tracks but hey this is nothing compared to the size of some of the gun parts that said I must admit it does look good

This is still work in progress and being disabled now I am having to learn new ways of doing things but I have to be honest and say this kit has its faults but the detail for an older kit is still very good well I am off to make the base for the dio and then tone down some of the rust on the tank will bring you somemore progress as I get further into it

Album info
Hi this is a dio plan build in small scale for one of my best friends as I want to get it right for him so I like to make a small scale version of the dio before going to the true scale this way I can make sure it is right before producing the dio
