Hallo Stefan, danke für die Ermutigung, kann´s bei dieser modellbauerischen Herausforderung gut gebrauchen!
I guess the main sanding and filling work on fuselage/ wings could be slowly done. Next will be rescribing some panellines and than- moment of truth- starting to prime this whole affair... I can imagine there will be a lot of areas to be reworked with filler.
The first victim of this severe sanding have been the strakes on the fuselage top. I will have to reconstruct them with selfmade plastic ones.
So far so good....

After applying some shades of gray, I had to repair some not properly filled gaps and seams. Next session will see those areas being sanded again. The montage of the new made fuselage strakes will follow this.

Die "Klüfte" und Schluchten waren selbst für einen bergerprobten Alpenbewohner wie mich erschreckend... 🙂 Das Navigationsklimbims stammt von einer Arado 196... ich trau´mir´s fast nicht sagen: in 1:32!
Gottseidank oder leider wird man null und nix von dem Ganzen sehen...

Jaja das ist mir nicht fremd, Innenräume auszustatten, und sie dann auf Nimmerwiedersehen im Modell einzuschließen. Aber Spaß machts doch ! Bin gespannt wie`s weitergeht.

After building the engine pods severe filling was needed. This time I resorted to a method Bernhard Schrock did recommend in conjunction with this challenging build: I filled the gaps with superglue- it worked fast and filled all the gaps small and big...
I hope sanding this whole affair will be as simple as filling- thank you very much, Bernhard!

On the pictures you can see the scratched strakes; they will be sanded further.
Next step should see the "Seeadler" preshaded.

Todays work saw the surfaces being shaded... and, before, the filled up gaps have been sanded. The trick with superglue worked very well!

Ohja, Chrisitan, allein wenn ich an das Nachgravieren denke! Die Vertiefungen sehen eigentlich allesamt sehr unsauber aus, die werde ich am gesamten Rumpf noch einmal mit einer Nadel oder ähnlichem reinigen.

A little bit lazy about sharing pictures and writing- but not about modeling! 🙂
All the colours have been applied, some handrails scratched, a clear glossy coat done but no washing till now...
This kit is a real challenge until the very end, even the very last parts being applied had to be sanded, filled, reworked...

Thank God... my first -and last- Amodel kit is slowly going in the home straight. Troubles without end: dismembering decals, incorrect antenna-mast, which had to be scratched- as the rails on the engine gondola- and severe fitting problems till the very last part.
But...brought to an half-decent end, so I hope.

Sicher war es eine Spachtelorgie... und A-Modell ist auch nicht für gnadenlose Präzision bekannt... Aber was ich bislang gesehen habe ist Wahnsinn und Du hast ein Modell in der Vitrine (oder wo auch immer) stehen, das nun wirklich nicht jeder hat.
Hut ab vor Deiner Leistung... Ich bin beeindruckt. Ich würde aus einer besseren Grundlage ein nicht einmal annähernd so gutes Modell zaubern. RESPEKT!😉

It was one of my more interesting dives.
This was 20 years ago though and I did not have a camera. So, sorry, no photos.

Looks way more corroded than I remembered it.
I remember being able to make out the paint. Port wing was folded up and over the fuselage and you could see the light paint of the underside. The float was extended and pointed straight up.

Gratulation ! tolles Resultat. der Kit schein besser zu sein als Mach2, aber man sieht, es musste Vieles nachgebessert werden.
