MiG-21PF (76)

January 5, 2024Stripes of PLA paper were added just for better fit between halves of wings.2
January 5, 2024Wings ready for assembly.3
January 5, 2024As usually in Eduard's MiGs a 0,2 mm PLA insert was needed to cancel a gap between fuselage and wings.4
January 5, 2024This aircraft may have been used with a Monsoon beam (?), which allowed two R-3S rockets to be carried under each wing. The parts needed for the Monsoon beam are on the "H" frame, but are described as "unused parts."5
January 5, 2024Pylon, Monsoon beam and two launcher beams together. Nice tower 🙂6
January 5, 2024Probably new modification of MiG - canards 😉. 0,1 mm PLA paper fills a gap between parts.7
January 5, 2024Cockpit almost ready 🙂8
January 5, 2024Current status of project (underwings pylons aren't glued jet).9
January 5, 2024Current status of project10
January 6, 2024Outlet nozzle cover sanded - a minute's work and the effect is much better than straight out of the box.11
January 6, 2024The exhaust nozzle cover and the previously modified nozzle tried on the model. Eduard won't make money on aftermarkets12
January 6, 2024The inlet cone traditionally does not fit in the ring. After a while, I thought about filing out the notches - bingo! Why didn't Eduard do it as standard?13
January 6, 2024Small parts glued up, light primer and "non-metallic" colors laid down. Now a quick masking and you can lay the primer for the metallics 🙂14

January 8, 2024Black primer (I had to change the background 😉 )16
January 8, 2024Metallics with some shadows17
January 8, 20242K gloss varnish on metallics - changes "a bit" colours, but for decals it's a must 🙁

January 9, 2024Sorry, but I have to remove 2K gloss varnish and paint model again or... find a new kit. The varnish layers are unacceptably thick and the model loses detail 🙁
