January 23, 2022This is a MikroMir kit, so do not expect any facilitating items 😉2
January 23, 2022Nevertheless, seems to be quite a simple build3
January 23, 2022These beams were moulded as fragments of the main sprue (see photo #1) - ingenious, isn't it 😉4
January 25, 2022I have installed the interior dock, but I am still pondering on the final configuration of the rear ramp and cockpit hatch...5
January 25, 2022I do not know the purpose of these holes in the real thing...6
January 25, 2022Puttying... and sanding... and polishing are the order of the day of course. Fortunately, only perfectly flat surfaces here 😉7
January 31, 2022Dry fitting of main parts of the hull. Even though there are mainly flat surfaces, puttying was necessary...8
January 31, 2022Since I couldn't find the photos of the interior I decided to glue the hatch in the closed position.9
February 5, 2022Quite an ingenious way of aligning the masks for windscreen and side windows.10
February 5, 2022Primed. After analysing the available photos of a real thing I discovered that from the kit parts one can make neither the craft depicted on the box top nor the one proposed in the painting scheme... Also the radar shroud is of wrong shape for this very boat, I found something to substitute it (the blue half-spherical piece it is...)11
February 24, 2022Painted. Now I need to break this monotony in some way...12
March 1, 2022Now I have to figure out how to assemble these...13
March 1, 2022Current state of the model14
March 1, 2022Tried not to overdo the weathering.15
March 4, 202216
March 4, 202217
March 4, 202218
March 4, 202219
March 4, 2022Finished. Not really spectacular looking model representing the first version of SeaLion vessel. Producing the camouflaged ones would need a lot of modifications on a basis of photos only, however. Still, it is something unusual 😉
