My first German WWII ship... 

...and its typical camouflage scheme. 

Replacement barrel for 15 cm make actually little difference... 

...but the smaller the guns get (twin 3,7 AA)... 

...or even smaller (2 cm) the difference becomes quite noticeable. 

in some instances the Trumpeter kit feels a bit over-engineered 

the radar is from an add-on 

well, I guess I shouldn't have used those anchor chain "Just because they were there" (in my spare bin) 

dry fitting of components (30 Jan)... 

...with some details missing... 

...as well as side camouflage... 

Almost finished, including my still rather pathetic attempt at rigging... 

...also small photo-etch I tend to bend... 

...the wire is from Uschi van der Rosten and pretty neat... 

...I still have some guys to add.. 

...and all the railings (uff) 

First ship finished... 

...the railings are OKish (the decal horrible)... 

...now two more (sub & oil barge)... 

And here the second ship... 

...a brisk build over a weekend... 

...still my photo-etch work can be improved... 

...but I am quite happy with the (1:350) VII C... 

...the VII C is complete... 

...albeit I might have overdone the weathering... 

...and the 3rd ship of the planned scene... 

...the Norwegian oil barge "Munkholm"... 

...an US Oil Barge played the part as it was the only ship I could get... 

...rigging (uff) still missing... 

...all three ships safely stored (for now)... 

...now I can start the groundwork (base)...

Almost complete. The base is still latest bed for colors as it will be covered by foam.

...I am not sure that I will keep the current "wet" look... 

This is the first layer of water, before painting (obviously) 

...the Norwegian sea is blue in the summer... 

...but maybe not THAT blue... 

...and I might have overdone the foam... 

...but overall I am 75% satisfied out to here... 

...I filled the gaps with more acrylic gel... 

...sometimes quite a lot of actually... 

...so I hope that tomorrow after drying everything will be nicely opaque... 

...the (toiletpaper-made) explosion is not entirely convincing... 

...and I find myself adding more and more foam to the waves etc... 

...so that I have to switch to B/W to get a better looking shot. 

The Niko-made WR 360 and railcars are really great...

The 1:350 North Star Models figures are really neat... 

...albeit in close-up my sub-optimal water surface modeling skills become much more obvious,
